Avicii Becomes First Electronic Dance Artist To Hit #1 At Three Radio Formats!


(Nov. 18, 2013- New York, NY) PRMD/Island Records superstar DJ/producer/songwriterAvicii’s worldwide smash single “Wake Me Up” moves into its third week at #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 chart, making him the first electronic dance artist to earn multiple weeks at the top of the influential chart. “Wake Me Up” is also #1 at both Hot AC and Adult Alternative, marking the first time an electronic dance artist has hit #1 at three radio formats.

“Wake Me Up” (described as “insanely catchy” by Rolling Stone) hit #1 in 73 countries, including the UK where it set a new record for the fastest-selling single of 2013. In its 20th week on the Hot 100, “Wake Me Up” has logged 280 million YouTube views, and global single sales north of 7 million!
